Joshua Allen Harris and Banksy Street Art
Lately I have really been digging street art. I love it for many reasons: Because the artists are obviously not concerned with art for financial gain, I identify with the subjects of most pieces, and I respect the statement street art makes when compared to advertising. We all accept advertising everywhere–outdoor billboards and signs, online ads, TV–you guys know it all. It’s literally in our faces. Yet many are offended by street art and graffiti. It seems to me the only difference between a billboard and an awesome piece of street art is the fact that a corporation made money off of the advertisement. And usually the graffiti is much more credible from an artistic standpoint. Have a look:
