Just some administrative questions
At Ben’s request I am not going to write any more crap this week. I wanted to ask you, readers, a few questions concerning this site.
1)Currently the rant page displays the most recent rant with others available in the archives section.
Q:
Would it be better to display the last four rants on the rant page? I feel like they go away and die in the archives quite fast.
2)I feel that just when people start commenting on a rant it is time for a new one to take its place.
Q:
Is a rant a week too fast? Should I slow it down to every other week? Once a month?
3)I have the option of editing my rant after I post it (fixing typos) and I receive an email any time you guys make a comment. I could extent these abilities to you but you would have to have an “account” to do this.
Q:
Would you like a feature where you sign up with a username and p-word account on maestrojed.com (formally High Five Friday) and were able to subscribe to rants that you like? You would then receive an email anytime a comment is made on that specific rant. You could also log in and edit your comments.
4)
Q:
Do you have any other general suggestions or comments about this site or specifically the rant section?
Tell your friends about it. It will be more fun with the more people (and more random people) that comment. In case you didn’t know, html code is allowed in the comment field. Therefore, if you want to format your text, insert pictures, add links, etc. to your post, feel free.

I like keeping them alive longer but I don’t want to log in. If I write something stupid that I want to later rescind thats my own problem and I should be publically humiliated for it. Come on, you’ve wanted to take down that map one for awhile now.
My suggestion is to have the comments viewable right from the get go and not have to click to view with comments.
I would think 2 weeks is doable. 1 month is too long.

I think it’s a good idea to keep 3-4 rants up, because they do get lost when a new one comes up.
I wouldn’t be opposed to an ID because these days you can set Firefox or Explorer to remember who you are, so unless you’re signing in from different computers each time, it wouldn’t be a hassle. The ability to edit posts outweighs the inconvenience.
I like the one a week. It’s consistent(ly updated on Friday), the rants tend to lead into one another. I would also second your suggestion to keep other rants more more current.
I thought I’d commented before and I couldn’t read the rant as I was writing. I guess you updated that b/c I see it now as I type, though the follow up comments aren’t visible, so maybe make those follow your rant to refer to as we comment.
Otherwise it’s my 12th favorite site on the whole internet. I’ll try to pass the word to get more people on. Keep up the good work HTMLThumbs up (BTW – I don’t know HTML code)
